Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One Teach the Crowd the "Tuxedo Way" at the Regency Ballroom
Eclectic funk-disco-R&B duo "Tuxedo" played San Francisco's Regency Ballroom for the first time on August 28. The duo consists of Grammy-nominated R&B/soul recording artist Mayer Hawthorne and Grammy-nominated hip-hop producer Jake One. They are currently on tour in support of their latest album, “Tuxedo 3.”
Each song sounded modern, upbeat, and had the crowd energetically dancing, well into the night. Although a group from the 21st century, 'Tuxedo' has a unique ability to transform a stadium into what feels like a 1970's disco. From the matching black suits, vibrant colored stage lights, and jazzy coordinated choreography, the show truly felt like a spectacle.
Grammy-nominated R&B/soul recording artist Mayer Hawthorne carried the performance, energetically dancing across the stage throughout the two-hour show.
