EarthGang Kicks Off Mirrorland Tour in San Francisco

EarthGang kicked off the first show of their long-awaited U.S. and European tour in San Francisco on Tuesday, January 21. Rappers WowGr8 (Johnny Venus) and Olu (Doctur Dot) are traveling from Phoenix to Belgium to perform 'Mirrorland,' the hip-hop duo's debut album from September of last year. The well-received, eclectic project is Earthgang's tribute to their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. with production and features from Childish Major, Young Thug, Kehlani, and Arin Ray. Both WowGr8 and Olu energetically performed major hits off the album, such as 'Proud of U' and 'Stuck.' Despite this being the duo's first album, the past few years have been packed with projects for Venus and Dot. The start of the decade saw the formation of the musical collective 'Spillage Village,' started by both musicians in 2010 during their time at Hampton University. Spillage Village now includes EarthGang, J.I.D., 6LACK, Lute, and Mereba. After working with J. Cole in 2016, Venus and Dot were signed to Cole's Dreamville Records, joining artists like Ari Lennox, Bas, and Cole himself.
Johnny Venus,  otherwise known as Olu, arguably carries EarthGang's performances with his infectious energy. The rapper is known for dancing around stage and donning unique fashion pieces — like this silver puffer jacket.

The rapper "WowGr8," also known as Doctur Dot, makes up the other half of EarthGang. Olu and WowGr8 are co-founders of the musical collective, 'Spillage Village.'

Chicago-born hip-hop artist Mick Jenkins joins EarthGang's tour as their main opener. Jenkins sang favorites like "Jazz" as well as new tracks from his latest released EP, "The Circus."
Baltimore native Jordan Bryant is a part of 'Spillage Village.' Bryant and rapper Wynne have half-hour opening sets on the Dreamville tour. Bryant works with music and film, having already released visuals for two of his singles; 'Outside' and 'Words for Thomas.'
