Rex Orange County Covers the Crowd in Confetti

21-year-old recording Alexander O' Connor, better known by his stage name 'Rex Orange County', has traveled from Surrey to San Francisco on tour for his October 2019 project, 'Pony.' Connor's third studio album is sprinkled with his signature blend of bedroom pop, soft hip-hop, and jazz. Perhaps the most historic and well-known venue in San Francisco, The Masonic hosted almost 3,000 pre-teens on Thursday, January 16 to see Rex Orange County.

Connor crooned favorites like "Stressed Out," "Never Had the Balls," and "It Gets Better" to the Bay Area audience, narrating the common struggles of going through personal growth while navigating the tricky outside world. The largely young audience jumped up and down to the songs, ending the night dancing around in the confetti that was blown from the top of the stage.

Aside from his own work, Connor may be known to a wider audience for his work on Tyler, the Creator's Grammy-nominated album, 'Flower Boy.' Connor caught Tyler's attention with his self-released SoundCloud project, "bcos u will never b free" (2016) and was given the chance to co-write and contribute vocals for the tracks 'Boredom' and 'Foreword.' He currently resides in Los Angeles.
